Artist Spotlight: Miriam Wosk

The Phenomonology of the Self; Paper collage

Miriam Wosk uses mixed media for her creations. With a keen eye for detail, she uses a variety of colors, and textures to create these beautiful works of art.

A largely self-taught painter, Wosk produced many richly textured paintings, watercolors, prints, collages and tapestry. The materials she used varied from jewels, glitter, and vintage wallpaper, to ribbons and feathers. Her highly decorative and colorful work, blending anatomical imagery, whether human or animal, with floral ornament and vibrant patterns, celebrate life in all forms.

Art108: Three Dimensional Experience

Paper "flower"
This project was our first introduction to the many wonders to three dimensional work. We took paper, crumbled it up into forms, shapes, some type of interesting 3-D design. We had to look for patterns, shapes, textures in our little paper creations. This is a sketch of mine, since the actual creation made its way to the trash. I chose this one, out of my three, because the paper had a better texture, which made it easier to manipulate.
